But y’know? We’re having a hard time coming up with snark on this one. Sure, it’s Versace-silly. And yes, it would be a better thing from a style perspective if the boots and dress split up and started dating other pieces. But she was giving a performance at this thing (although not in this) and it’s a pre-Super Bowl celebrity party, which is not a setting that begs for chic elegance. Plus, it’s a bit of an unusual look for her, which makes it kind of … refreshing somehow? She’s always had a knack for wearing high-impact tackariffic looks and making them fun and sexy, but she tends toward revealing body-con dresses in either bright colors or pale neutrals. The pieces here – black, embellished, graphic – are a slight change of pace for her. What can we say? It’s not chic but it’s fun.
