Hey, remember that post we wrote a half hour ago about how this year’s BBMAs took us by surprise because of how high-impact the red carpetry turned out to be? Gosh, we sure hope we didn’t give you the impression this was like the frikkin Met Gala or anything!
Here’s J Lo, to illustrate what we mean:
See, there’s a reason we use phrases like “high impact” or even “high fashion” when describing certain events or looks. These are not necessarily synonyms for “pretty,” or “chic” or “sophisticated.” If anything, we use those phrases when the latter words don’t really apply. In other words, this is kind of awful all over, but it’s sure as hell high-impact and we’d even entertain arguing that it’s high-fashion, given the label and the … severity of the look.
This is a classic example of “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should, dear.” Yes, she’s crazy-hot and can work a variety of skimpy outfits to drive that point home, but that dress is simply hideous. Keep the boots and the jewelry, ditch everything else and start over, Jenny. We don’t mind a little tacky with our hot, but hiddy-hot is off the table.
