Amy Adams in Brunello Cucinelli
This is sharp and kickass in a way her style usually isn’t. We love it for her, although we don’t love the bell sleeves. We almost never do.
Amy Poehler in ENCOMMÚN Official
Also surprisingly declarative and kickass for someone who’s had a relatively timid relationship with the red carpet. She looks great.
Anna Kendrick in Monique Lhuillier
What was in the water in LA last week? We’re three for three. Her style is usually so bland and forgettable, but this is pretty spectacular. She should wear black – and prints – more often.
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor in Sophie Couture
This is not a surprise because Aunjanue never fails to bring the drama. This looks amazing on her.
Connie Nielsen in Michael Kors Collection
That’s a classic skirt suit, which is both a little too dreary for an awards show and also something that absolutely cannot handle a gigantic train. It looks dumb.
Felicity Jones in Alessandra Rich
This is pretty. We can’t say white is the best choice for her, but the style looks great and there’s just enough interest in the design to keep it from looking basic. Having said that, the shoulder treatment could do with a little bit of an edit.
Jennifer Hudson in Saiid Kobeisy
It’s fine. She looks good.
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad Couture
It’s a perfectly J Lo sort of gown. Her makeup is looking stale and heavy. She really should consider an entire style overhaul.
Joan Chen in Dolce & Gabbana
She’s selling the shit out of a fairly basic look.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Amur
Looks like a napkin.
Julianne Moore in Proenza Schouler
She looks good in witchy styles, but this takes a terrible picture. Total void.
Kate Winslet in Erdem
Oof. No, girl. That’s some craft store nonsense.
Kerry Washington in Elie Saab Couture
We really hate that white boob strap, which distracts from an otherwise fabulous gown for her.
Kristen Wiig in Rodarte
Mumsy as hell. The makeup is terrible.
Lily-Rose Depp in Chanel Couture
Get rid of the sleeves and add about two inches to the hem.
Maika Monroe in Stella McCartney
What a horrible skirt.
Maria Bakalova in Bibhu Mohapatra
This is kind of pretty, although she’s not selling it with that posing.
Nicole Kidman in Celine
This is pretty great. Her makeup looks harsh.
Pamela Anderson in Giorgio Armani
Once again, we fully support her desire to sport a clean face and unstyled hair, but this just isn’t a great choice of outfit for that kind of look. It’s giving nun. It would still be a little too dull a design, but it would at least pop a little more if it were all white.
Saoirse Ronan in Louis Vuitton
It’s pretty and the color makes her eyes pop, but the style seems unusually conventional for her.
Sharon Stone in Saint Laurent
Looks good, gets the job done.
Storm Reid in Marmar Halim
The straps make it look like it’s too small on her, but the color is very pretty.
Tilda Swinton in Standing Ground
PURE LOVE. The pope has returned to the Vatican, bitches.
